Arrows fins left sitting on table, fins bent slightly now?
I bought three Gold Tip Expedition Hunter shafts with Vanetec fins, all three had very nice straight set of fins. But someone in the house was going through my room yesterday without asking and they moved my arrows from the stand I kept them in and just dump them on my table. The arrows sat on fins throughout the day until i realized they were moved the next morning, and I was pi-ssed to find that the bottom fins are now slightly bent.
I try bending back straight, but they just flex back. I was saving these arrows for target shooting, but now I'm worried they won't fly straight anymore. Is there anyway for me to straighten the fins back?
First, it won't make a difference for target shooting. You aren't trying to stabilize a broadhead, just keeping the tail of the arrow from waggling. They'll be fine.
For plastic vanes (by conventions feathers are fletching, and plastic are vanes, fins are for sharks) you can often simply apply some steam to them - not alot! - and they will straighten back out. But it seriously isn't a big deal.
