My newly installed ceiling fans sounds like it is rubbing.?
I just installed a casblanca (Panama style) ceiling fan. It was brand new. I installed it on a sloped cathedral ceiling with a 12 inch rod extension. The lights work fine, but the fan doesn't turn well. It turns about 2 inches then it sounds as if it hits a block of wood internally in the motor area. I tried turning up the speed and it does start to turn around but it also sounds as if it is hitting wood as it spins. I removed the wedge shaped plastic "packing blocks". Is there something that i may have overlooked while installing? I would hate to return it, the lights work and it looks nice in the room, I just need it to function properly.

check to make sure all your screws for your blades are tight and not rubbing on the motor
