Best Rod Reel Combo?
If you were going to spend $150.00 what rod reel combo would you get? For reels I'm looking at either a spin or bait cast. Please be specific on models.
I'm looking to do a lot of bass fishing. I want to do some catfishing too but I know I need a different rod/ reel for that.
I would take a good look at Bass Pro Shop's "Extreme" baitcast rod/reel setup, if I were you. I say that because, I recently bought the wide spool reel and paired it with the 7' med/heavy Woo Daves camlock rod. What a combo! I was thoroughly amazed at the quality and performance of the reel, and the wide spool really serves it's purpose. The rod is just as great, very tough, yet sensitive to the lightest "tick". I have 50 lb. Power Pro on my reel, because I have been flipping and pitching with it. I've caught bass, catfish, and a razorback buffalo on this rig with no problems. All for $99.99! With my many different rods and reels, this has become my most trusted.
