Follow up ... this is why the beatles are not as great as made out to be!!?
In my previous question many people cited that the beatles had a wide range of music ... going from pop to endless rock to trippy music .... but, having this doesn't make them NOT masters of their craft??
Is it better to have One bird in hand or a million flying??
This is also why I think bands like Oasis, Led Zepellin, The Strokes, The Doors and Nirvana were better MUSIC WISE
Once again, I said MUSIC WISE ... if you're not sure of where I'm going with this ... read my previous question!!!
You have to keep in mind that these are YOUR pick for better sound MUSIC WISE.
And also I just realized your comparing Cats and Dogs. I grew up a huge indie fan, (oh btw you forgot 12:51 on your strokes indie list), I'm totally into The Strokes, and Oasis, and while both are very talented, you can't pin them against the beatles. It's like saying oh elephants are big, but dinosaurs were bigger. Well both had thier own right of passage, and both would be out of place in eachothers worlds. ( I hope that made sense) Many people dont know about the strokes, or any oasis song besides "wonderwall", because niether has the mainstream appeal. They have mastered ONE sound of music, and it can get kind of boring.
And there are so many other Artists we could list that anyone could say, Oh yeah They had the best songs:
Stevie Wonder
The Clash & The Ramones (pioneering punk)
Frank Sinatra
Bob Marley and the modern day Sublime
I mean you could go on and on... it all comes down to personal preference and opnions.
Oh and again you forgot LA Woman with The Doors, Oasis' Champagne Supernova...
