Whats the correct way, or most effective way to use a fishing lure?
I always use bait, but when fishing I find tons of lost lures. They look cool and I might as well try em out. I found a gold blue fox 2 super vibrax the other day...so what I'm asking is how do I present it? Like, do I use weights? Maybe split shots? When reeling in, do I go fast or slow? How far should I cast out? Is it best to use them in a lake or in a river? And the most common fish in the lake/river I go to are rainbow trout if that matters
There are thousand of lures and tens of thousands of different ways to present them.
The Blue Fox is an inline spinner common in trout fishing. It shouldn't need a weight. Cast it out and try different retrieves - fast, slow, start and stop, twitching it or anything else you come up with.
