I have a sword here at home and i am trying to figure out exactly what type it is?
it is about 2 1/2 to 3 feet long, maybe more, i am not sure. the handle is wrapped in a tattered silk cloth, and the blade has just a long rod with a grooved end that lets you screw a heavy ball of metal to hold the handle in place so it doesn't rotate when swung. the guard is just a rod with an extra loop to be held onto. from the hilt is thick metal with painted designs that has two points that branch out to form an arrow pointing towards the hilt, and the thick metal gets thinner and forms into the blade of the sword. i do apologize for my crude explanation of this sword, and if i could upload a pic of it, i would. can anyone help? i haven't a clue as to what kind of sword it is, and it is just collector's curiosity, but i would appreciate if someone could help. any suggestions for searches on the web as well.
I collect antique swords and if you could send me pics I will try to help out. My email address is in my profile.
