Vintage split bamboo fly fishing rod?
I'd like to identify my split bamboo fly rod. The only identification marks I find is painted in a fine line with red ink/paint and reads-No. S 3. It comes in three pieces and is 9 feet long. It is in very good condition, but probably hasn't been used in quite some time. It belonged to a gentleman who came out of the war in the mid 1940"s. All the eyelets are attached, the handle is cork with Chrome metal to hold the reel. I took it to Pro Bass and they say it is not made in China, but can't identify it either.
Haha. Most of the people that work at Bass Pro Shops are like the idiot employees at Wal-Mart... no idea about the merchandise in their department.
Personally, I have no idea about fly rods. I will however star the question so someone I know will see it. He is very proficient in older tackle.
